|Fredson "Fred" Link|
|Son of Hephaestus|
|Secondary-Counselor of Cabin Nine|
|Family||Hephaestus (father), Members of Hephastus' Cabin (paternal half-siblings)|
Fredson Link, often known as Fred, was a demigod that dwelt at Camp Half-Blood as a son of the god of forges and fire, known as Hephaestus, as an expert builder and jokester, and an eventual cabin counselor and Camp Half-Blood staff member, a counselor-assisstant for Nyssa, and then after that for about a month, assisstant to Leo Valdez. But once he left to save the world on the Argo II, Fred was forced to take Cabin Nine matters into his own hands as cabin counselor.
Fred had been abandoned at the young age of five, appearing at Camp Half-Blood for an unknown reason. He was taken in and cared for within Cabin Eleven, but only for a few days until he was moved to the Big House, as the camp staff had not felt his safety within the cabin―surrounded by Hermes children, and thieves (they had already taken the camp's arrows). Later, he was proven a magnificent shot, but he often prefered tinkering and using hammers. This give a hint of who had been...when he was about twelve he was claimed by his father, Hephaestus, and he was moved to Cabin Nine with his half-siblings.
After the death of Charles Beckendorf, just prior to the large Battle of Manhattan, which later ended the Second Titan War, Jake Mason took place as counselor, but was later resigned and replaced by Nyssa. But eventually the Earth was at war with itself, better known as the earth goddess Gaea. The gods were at war with themselves, and the only ones to save it were the Heroes of Olympus.
A bit after they had left for California, Fred and his friends had a meeting with the Oracle, Rachel Elizabeth Dare.
